I work as an independent director with a variety of great production companies, who knows, possibly yours. I also direct smaller projects through my own company; Kingpin Productions. Please feel free to inquire if you think we could make awesome stuff together!
Whitey McConnaughy is a Cannes Lion winning director. Whitey’s many-side skillset (which includes directing, shooting and editing) began at 21 years of age, directing and producing more than 16 best-selling world renown snowboard and skateboard films. Since then, Whitey has worked in the worlds of comedy, action sports, music videos and has found a niche for work involving hidden cameras and real people. This foundation started when he helped shoot and create the Jackass franchise. (Whitey helped shoot the Jackass pilot and wrote and shot the first two Jackass movies). Whitey has also written and directed shorts for the comedy website Funny or Die. His extensive music video work has won numerous awards and praise across the globe. Whitey’s directed advertising campaigns for Nike, Honda, Mt Dew, Coors, Progressive, Chrysler, Coca-Cola, EA Sports, Activision, Sprint, Dodge, Dominos, Verizon and Burger King to name but a few. He’s also directed sketches for The Late Late Show with James Corden and recently produced and directed a stand-up comedy special for comedian Chris Fairbanks.
T.D.F.K.A. What’s that all about?
I got the nickname “Whitey” when I was 16, for the simple reason that I had bleached white hair. The nickname stuck and I carried it like a happy trooper until Donald Trump became president. Soon thereafter, I became disheartened with the nickname and more recently sickened by what it might represent to some people. I was lucky to have been born and raised in Washington DC; a wonderfully colorful and diverse city. I grew up in the DC punk rock scene; where I learned to fight for the less fortunate, to help our fellow brothers and sisters up and to treat everyone with love and respect, no matter their race, sexual identity or country they are from. Losing the nickname Whitey is my small way of protesting the Trump administration and their follower’s hateful rhetoric.
Please get out there and make a change for good, please vote....
